Author's note for Chapter 71

Author’s Note: Okay, this is quick and dirty because I wanted to post this weekend and I’ll be busy all day today. So this chapter will move to its rightful place eventually (probably on Monday) but for now here it is.

Huge thanks to my beta, Natalie, for reviewing the chapter, as well as to my friends Eli, Maureen and Pauline and, of course, John, and all the readers for continuing to encourage and inspire me. The biggest payoff of this writing journey has been meeting all of you – whether virtually or in person – and I’m not just speaking for me when I say that but for Edward too, because he knows his story would never be told without you all

Not a lot else to say this time, except to note that you may notice that in this chapter I spelled Peter’s nickname “Ros” instead of “Ross,” as I had previously. This is not a mistake. In the past, when Edward thought that the name of Jasper’s roommate was Ross. However, when Jasper explained that it was a shortened version of Petros, Edward readjusted his POV to reflect that, and I adjusted the spelling to demonstrate this. It’s not a huge deal and I probably just should have stuck with Ross but that wasn’t what Edward was telling me, so…yeah. Yes, I am a puppet for my characters to do with what they will J

The link to the disclaimer is in the right hand column. Please click on it if you haven’t read it before.

Enjoy and if you’re so inclined I’d love to know what you thought of this chapter. I can tell you that a couple of things were a surprise to me, but I won’t reveal what they were so as not to spoil things.

p.s. (Edited Jan 3, 2015) Chapter 71 has been moved to its proper place. The next chapter will be posted later today.

Chapter 70 of Errors is up!

This chapter is coming to you hot off the press, which means I didn't have time to send it to my wonderful Beta. My apologies in advance for the inevitable errors. I did try to weed out some myself, but I've never been a great proofreader, especially of my own work. Hopefully, you can ignore the mistakes in favor of the story.

This is a pretty pivotal chapter for Edward and Jasper, and one that may surprise you. I hope it won't be an unpleasant surprise, but if it is I would ask that you keep an open mind and see where the story goes. There are only a few chapters left until the wrap-up, and I will write them as quickly as I can. Not sure if I'll meet the end of the year timeframe, but I sure as heck will try.

There will be  a small time-jump from the end of this chapter to the next, and if you're curious to see what happens during this time jump I would strongly recommend reading the Culture Aftershock chapter that John will post today. Chronologically, Errors 70 comes first, and Culture Aftershock 49 comes immediately thereafter. Well, technically Culture Aftershock 48 is the start of immediately thereafter, as that chapter describes the hearing that Edward refers to in Errors 70, so if you haven't read that chapter yet you may wish to. But regardless, I would strongly suggest reading Culture Aftershock 49 before you go on to read Errors 71 when that becomes available.

And speaking of available, you may recall last time I told you about John's erotic short story that features a fun, supernatural take on John's original characters who happen to reside in the E&O verse. The story is now available and, as promised, here is the link: Spunk Craving Zombies

If you're thinking that erotica and zombies don't go together, let me ease your mind. These are not the typical decaying, brain seeking zombies. The zombies do have a one-track mind, though, and John packed lots of sexytimes into his short story. He's offering it at an introductory price of only $0.99 right now and it's also available for free to subscribers of Kindle Unlimited, so do check it out!

As always, thank you so much to my loyal readers and to Natalie, my awesome Beta whom I unfortunately had to leave out of the process in order to bring you this chapter sooner. And obviously a huge thanks to John, who had enriched the E&O universe and my life so much. I couldn't imagine writing this story without him. Big, tight hugs to you all!

Okay, enough yapping. Here's the link to Errors Chapter 70.

Happy Reading!

Love, Liz

p.s. just in case I don't post another chapter until then, both John and I are registered for the Gay Rom Lit retreat in October. If any of you are going, let us know. It would be great to say hello in person :).

Chapter 69 of Errors & Omissions is up!

My apologies for yet another long delay between chapters. My new position at work is much more demanding than my last, which leaves little time or energy for writing. To top that off, we seem to have had a spring full of various family obligations that further reduce time and energy. Fortunately, I've been blessed with a very understanding hubby and I think things might change for the better in the next few months. That's all I'll say for now - don't want to jinx anything - but let's just say I'm still hopeful I can finish writing Errors in 2014.

So this chapter took so long to write that when I was done I just wanted to post it, and it was much too long to drop on my Beta and expect a quick turnaround. Therefore, it's presented to you hot off the presses and raw (as in pretty much unedited except for a run of spell check). I apologize in advance for the length and for any mistakes, but at this point I figured it was better to post than to wait.

A portion of this chapter features a couple of characters that I'm using courtesy of another fan fiction writer who dropped out of the Twilight slash fan fic scene quite a while ago. She had given her permission for the use of her characters and she had even read a very early version of a part of this chapter. The storyline has since changed so that part of the chapter was largely re-written, but the kernel of the original is still there. So I just want to say, Thanks, Christie!, for writing an awesome story and letting me borrow your guys and mold them somewhat to fit Errors.

If you want to read a little more about the Halloween party that features in this chapter, you should know that John posted a new chapter of Culture Aftershock today. Today's chapter, Chapter 47, is actually part 2 of Culture Aftershock's description of the Halloween party. To read the whole thing start with Chapter 46.

Also, I'm really excited to tell you that John has written a sort of supernatural version of a scene you get a glimpse of in this chapter of Errors. It's an erotic short story and a different, fun take on John's original characters who happen to reside in the E&O verse. John will self-publish it on Amazon soon, and I will have a link here as soon as it's available!

Last but not least, I want to give my thanks to you, the readers, whose continued encouragement keep me writing, and also to Natalie, whom I didn't give a chance to Beta this chapter but who would have done a wonderful job given the opportunity, and to John, who keeps me sane thought our daily collaboration. I love you all!

Okay, now without further ado, here's the link to Errors Chapter 69.

Happy Reading!

Love, Liz

Chapter 68 is up!

I know it may seem like a shock only a month after I posted the last chapter, but I'm happy to say Chapter 68 is ready for your reading pleasure.

As always, I owe much gratitude to my wonderful Beta, Natalie, who not only corrects the obvious errors but also knows the story better than I do and catches my continuity errors (those always make me cringe - I'm so lucky her memory is better than mine!). Huge, huge hugs for your tireless efforts, sweetie, especially when I know you're super busy with your own life!

And, of course, huge thanks to John as well, who is there to provide daily support and encouragement, even when my writing schedule causes problems for his posting schedule. My apologies to all Culture Aftershock readers, but I will need to post at least one other chapter of Errors before we can see the next chapter of John's story, just to keep the events in the two consistent without spoiling either story too much.

Last but not least, thank you to all the readers, especially those of you who left comments on the last chapter. I was diligent in replying at first, but then life got super busy (I support the sales team in our organization and March is quarter end, so I had less and less free time as the month wore on). Please know that even if I didn't have time to reply, reading your thoughts on the chapter meant the world to me!

Here's the link to Chapter 68 (As always, you'll also find it in the table of contents in the right hand column.) Happy reading and if you have a moment I'd love for you to read a comment to let me know what you thought!

Chapter 67 is up!

I know it's been months since I posted chapter 66 and I'm really sorry for the continued delays. Unfortunately, right after I last posted, we had some upheaval at work that made writing very difficult. There was a change in management of my group, and then layoffs, and for me a change in responsibilities and move to another group. I'm enjoying getting to know a new team and new processes, but there's no doubt that the new position will keep me even busier than my old one, leaving even less time for writing. That's the bad news.

The good news is I realize that last year I spread myself too thin between my original and fan-fic writing and that I cannot keep that up this year. Last year, when I had to choose between the two, the original writing often won.  This year I'm choosing the opposite and have put all my original writing on hold until I finish Errors. With my additional work responsibilities and more social obligations at home, plus the everpresent threat of writer's block, my decision may not actually lead to a huge acceleration in posting pace, but at least you can be sure that no other story is tugging me away from this one. And just so we're all clear, the answer  to "Has this story been abandoned?" will always be, emphatically and unequivocally, no. Not until you see "the end" (or some equivalent) in the last line of a chapter.

With regard to today's chapter I must, as usual, thank my big twin brother John. I hope you've been keeping up with Culture Aftershock, because John provides a lot of Errors insights there. A few chapters ago, for example, readers got a rare glimpse into Jasper's thoughts on his renewed relationship with Edward, and yesterday they got a preview of a part of today's Errors chapter. While John and I may be authors of our respective stories, we are collaborators and partners in the E & O Universe, and John deserves much credit for the inspiration and support he provides on a daily basis. Thanks, Babe!

I also have to thank my wonderful Beta, Natalie, who is always game to review a chapter even while she's ill (somehow I always seem to finish these chapters right as she's getting sick - sorry!), as was the case (again) this time. I so, so, so appreciate her input and her eye for finding silly, pesky errors that I always seem to miss. Each chapter of the story is so much better due to her hard work.  Thank you, Sweetie!

Last but not least, thank you to all the readers for your continued support and messages. I wish I was a more consistent author, but I'm so grateful to those of you who don't hold my sporadic posting against me. The story will be finished even if John and I are the only ones reading it by the end, but it sure is nice knowing that, at least so far, that isn't the case :). We love all of you and especially appreciate when you let us know your thoughts on the new chapters!

And speaking of which, here's the link to today's chapter of Errors (As always, you'll also find it in the table of contents in the right hand column.)

I'm not sure on the ETA of the next chapter of Errors, but 5K words are already written, so hopefully it won't be too long.

Sending you all big hugs and kisses,

Love, Liz

PS. For those of you who are interested in my original works, I released my YA novel last November. Because that one is targeted to a younger audience, I published it under a different pen name, but you can find it on the Young Adult section of my Liz Winters Blog.

Last December, I also released a sequel to my first published story, Handle with Care.  Harbor with Caution tells us what happens to Dean and Gabe eight months after their Christmas Eve meeting, when Gabe's ex moves back to Chicago.

As I mentioned above, these will be the last of my original works for a while, until Errors is finished. Enjoy!
