This chapter is coming to you hot off the press, which means I didn't have time to send it to my wonderful Beta. My apologies in advance for the inevitable errors. I did try to weed out some myself, but I've never been a great proofreader, especially of my own work. Hopefully, you can ignore the mistakes in favor of the story.
This is a pretty pivotal chapter for Edward and Jasper, and one that may surprise you. I hope it won't be an unpleasant surprise, but if it is I would ask that you keep an open mind and see where the story goes. There are only a few chapters left until the wrap-up, and I will write them as quickly as I can. Not sure if I'll meet the end of the year timeframe, but I sure as heck will try.
There will be a small time-jump from the end of this chapter to the next, and if you're curious to see what happens during this time jump I would strongly recommend reading the Culture Aftershock chapter that John will post today. Chronologically, Errors 70 comes first, and Culture Aftershock 49 comes immediately thereafter. Well, technically Culture Aftershock 48 is the start of immediately thereafter, as that chapter describes the hearing that Edward refers to in Errors 70, so if you haven't read that chapter yet you may wish to. But regardless, I would strongly suggest reading Culture Aftershock 49 before you go on to read Errors 71 when that becomes available.
